At the age of four, I started playing the violin and I learnt the “German School” style of playing until the age of 12. That is when I switched styles and I started studying with Paul Ratz, the concert-master of the National Opera House. He was a disciple of the Franco-Flemish School (“the old school”) of violin playing developed by Pierre Marsick, Joseph Joachim and Leopold Auer then followed by violin masters including Jascha Heifetz, Jacques Thibaud and George Enescu.

This is a school that offers solutions that combine the elegance of the right-hand technique and correct bow distribution with how to bring more colour in violin playing by developing expressivity through different kinds of vibrato / non-vibrato, different kind of slides and when to do them.

I have been teaching privately since I was 14 and worked with Yehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now! Scheme, Young Promoters and other music courses. I address each student’s individual needs and pick the right material that I believe will make a better violinist.
